I thought this might be important for geniuses to hear.
It doesn't seem to be a good time for geniuses.
My guess is that we squelch more genius on a day-to-day basis than any civilization in the history of man.
***
Stanislavsky had this to say, & I pass it on to any geniuses out there:
"Who are the men who become great creative artists?
Who are they who become our teachers and our models?
"In the great majority of cases they are people
who belonged to the middle classes
& who have had to fight very hard
& overcome a multitude of obstacles in their lives.
Too great security as well as too great poverty
almost invariably kill talent,
with the only exception of men of genius;
but we need not talk of geniuses,*
since they do not want my system.
They are a system in themselves.
They are themselves a heroic life.
The art is their whole life."
*Poor genius-reader, if you happen to be a genius or think you might be a genius, how sorry I feel for you, living in this world where your best option might simply be to sell yourself in slavery to a mega-corporation. If you happen to be a Creative genius specifically and weren't born rich, I feel for you most. You're all so under-utilized, at least it seems so to me.
